Inspired by hiking in the Santa Monica, Verdugo, and San Gabriel Mountains,
we take an unmanicured approach to our garden. Started in 2016, our completely DIY garden is meant to take us back to our favorite California wildlands and look more like a mountain meadow than a suburban garden. We made space for a bocce court, fire pit, and plenty of entertaining, but also prioritized permeable surface ground cover and a low-maintenance approach.
Notable Plants

Island Ceanothus (Ceanothus arboreus)
Channel Islands Bush Poppy (Dendromecon harfordii)
California Glory Flannel Bush (Fremontodendron ‘California Glory’)
