The Westwood Greenway is an urban green space adjacent to LA Metro’s E Line at the Westwood/Rancho Park Station. The Greenway provides habitat for a wide array of pollinators and other fauna. The centerpiece of the Greenway is a bioswale that cleans water from urban runoff and the now daylighted Brown Canyon Creek (which historically ran across the site), forming part of the Ballona Watershed flowing into the Santa Monica Bay. This oasis of emerging biodiversity was planted less than two years ago and is blossoming. Special thanks to our partners: TPF, CNPS, Sarah Hays, the Greenway Steering committee, and the Westwood Greenway non-profit.
Notable Plants

Palmer’s Indian Mallow (Abutilon palmeri)
Coyote Brush (Baccharis pilularis)
Creeping Barberry (Berberis aquifolium var. repens)
Holly Leaf Cherry (Prunus ilicifolia)
Island Oak (Quercus tomentella)
