A constant array of seasonal color from aromatic sages, buckwheats, blooms, berries, and grasses fills the hillside surrounding our cabin-style home in La Crescenta. A variety of birds, bees, and butterflies feeds on the nectar, pollen, and seeds. Stone pathways and stairs traverse the sloping property, leading to seating where we enjoy the mature tree canopy, newly added native trees, varied wildlife, and pleasing foliage. Natural stone bioswales, driveway bands, walls, and boulders direct water in rain and attract sun-loving lizards in drier times. The garden has something interesting and exciting to offer all year round.
