The Spruce magazine featured this La Crescenta home’s exemplary architecture, making note of its terra cotta tile roof, ironworks, and the intricate tile of its stairways. The 100 percent native garden amplifies each of these distinctive charms. A rare, diaphanous ceanothus pops against the roof tiles. As its blooms fade in summer, berries of blue emerge from deep green Oregon grape to call the eye to the Spanish tile stairways. Established tree canopy, coffeeberry and more ceanothus build privacy along the ironwork fence and draw lovebirds to a fountain that pays homage to the spectacular sunsets that hover above it.
Notable Plants
