Our garden is a semi-formal “collector’s garden.” Planted in 2004, this 100 percent native landscape covers 7,500 square feet. A winding decomposed granite path leads from a gabion wall to a rammed earth bench nestled beneath a mature coast live oak skirted by evergreen currant. Swaths of colorful wildflowers, a dudleya-studded cliff, and espaliered flannel bush surround an art installation in the center of the garden. A 100-year old house stands between the native garden and a propagation area.
