Radlands Home Garden

Saturday April 23 | 10am - 5PM

Private Residence

Design & Care: Lake Sharp, Radlands (resident)

Garden Size: 2,000 sq. ft., front/back

Started: 2013

When we moved in, this secretly large outdoor space was a blank canvas with next to no existing plants and a lot of concrete. Over eight years of native, edible, and medicinal plant experimentations and collaborations, this garden has become a vibrant habitat for plants, insects, animals, and our family of four humans, four chickens, and two dogs. The front yard is framed by two L-shaped concrete planters and planted with a mix of cacti and native shrubs. The back yard is an intuitive design of terraced outdoor rooms, a greywater swale, and planting areas.

Notable Plants
Island Morning Glory

Island Morning Glory (Calystegia macrostegia)
Chaparral Clematis (Clematis lasiantha)
Apache Plume (Fallugia paradoxa)
